The windscreen wipers of our VW JETTA 1K2 (year of construction 11.05) were old, so we were looking for an inexpensive and reliable solution.
I ordered the windscreen wipers Aerotwin from Bosch because I had it on my old vehicle before and was more than just satisfied.
The wipers are great. The assembly is done in less than 1 minute. I drive 60.000km/year and one or two sets of wipers are due there per year. Unfortunately, I notice that the shelf life has become worse and worse in recent years. 40-45,000 km they still make for me about. There were 60-70,000 times with identical use.
As I’ve read on other reviews, the fitting clips are for a left hand drive car. For the wipers to operate correctly on a right hand drive car,
you have to remove the fiddly end clip, slide the blade and fitting clip out, turn it around, slide it back in and refit the end clip. Patience is needed.
If you don’t do this, the little aero spoiler along the blade that helps keep the wiper to the screen at speed will be the wrong way round and may end up causing lift and lack of contact?
Once fitted, they have been brilliant and operated silently. Pleased with them after 20 mins of messing around before fitting them, they were cheaper than anywhere else after all
