Windshield wipers are made from rubber that degrades over time. This causes them to be less effective. Everyday use, UV rays, temperature fluctuations and typical wear and tear cause even the best windshield wipers to deteriorate.
1. Long-term exposure. If the vehicle is exposed to high temperatures for a long time, the windshield will be very hot and the wiper blades will be kept close to the glass, which will cause the wiper strips to deform and age. You can park the vehicle indoors.
2. The wiper is corroded. It may be because vehicles are often parked under trees. Fruits and bird droppings dropped from trees are acidic and corrosive, which will accelerate the aging and damage of wipers. Therefore, vehicles should be parked indoors as much as possible.
3. Excessive friction. If it is not moistened with water in advance, there will be no lubrication between the wiper strip and the glass. The friction generated during operation will increase the wear of the wiper strip.
4. There is foreign matter. It may be that there are foreign objects on the wiper strips or on the windshield, such as mud and sand, which cause the wiper to be rubbed when working, which accelerates the damage. The foreign objects need to be cleaned up in time.
When parking, car owners should try to park in a cool place or indoors. When the wipers are not in use, they should be kept at the lowest position. Spray the glass with water before using the wiper to make the glass wet before wiping. Since many sand and dust particles are easily absorbed on the glass, they need to be softened in advance. Direct dry scraping will cause the glass to wear and the strips to deform.
